-A Legal Document Assistant, or LDA, helps people who are representing themselves prepare legal documents at their direction. It’s actually pretty simple: you make the legal decisions; I help with the paperwork. At Bakersfield Doc Prep Co., people come to me when they already know what they want done but need help getting their documents prepared, organized, and ready for the next step.

If you don’t know what legal decision to make, that’s when you may need an attorney or assistance from the court’s self-help resources.
What kinds of documents can I help prepare?
My work includes document preparation in areas such as divorce and family law, small claims, landlord-tenant matters, record clearing, estate planning, probate-related matters, and other California document-preparation matters within an LDA’s permitted scope.
Everything starts with the same principle: I prepare documents at the client’s direction.
